Estimating Sewing Time by Machine RPM
RPM is the revolution per minute of a machine. The machine RPM determines how much minimum time is required for a specific seam length with a particular stitch per Inch. To estimate Sewing Time by Machine RPM, the following parameters are needed.
🗸 Stitch Per
Inch (SPI)
🗸 Seam Length
(In Inch)
🗸 RPM of
Machine
If we have the above information, the
following formula can easily derive sewing time/machine cycle time.
Sewing Time /Machine Cycle
Time = SPI × Seam Length (In Inch)/RPM of Machine Explanation
Let say,
A machine RPM = 2200
Calculated SPI = 12
Seam Length = 40 Inchies
Sewing Time /Machine Cycle Time =
(12 × 40)/2200 = 218 min = 13.09 Sec.
