How Many Days Required a Factory to Produce 50,000 Pcs Garments?

For Planning, IE and Merchandising departments, it is very important to know that how many days are required to make how any garments. It helps to take decision and make conscious regarding on-time delivery. The calculation procedure discussed below.

garments planning,Garments costing,IE,Efficiency

We can make calculation by an assumption amount. Let say How Many Days Required a Factory to Produce 50,000 Garments?

To find the answer of the above questions you must have following information.

SMV of the Garment

Required Machines

Daily working hours

Line efficiency

Now Let Say-

SMV of the Garment = 18

Required Machines = 25

Daily working hours = 10

Line efficiency = 80%

To make 50,000 pcs garments-

Capacity required = 5000 × 18 minute = 900,000 minutes = 15,000Hours

Available Capacity/Day = 25 × 10 hours = 250 Hours

Suppose that line works at 100% efficiency.

So,

Days required to produce 50,000 garments = 15,000 / 250 = 60 days

If factory run at 80% efficiency, then

Days required to produce 50,000 garments = 60/80% = 75 days

Note: For some flexibility or back of supply chain or any other issue 1 or 2 days can be added with calculated days.
